Wow, James one of my nemesis birds, the elusive male...

To nick-pick a bit, wish the tail didn't cast a shadow in the branch so they seems to merge.

Of course, I'm speaking out of jealousy :D

    Hi James,

Your composition works very well. The colors, details and light are wonderful. The only thing is that the head looks soft. Perhaps a hair more of USM would help that.

    Thanks!

So exciting to have the opportunity to pohotograph these birds James and I like the pose and perch but agree about the head appearing a little soft.

Wow! This is an amazing image! Your pose and lighting are perfect. However, this photo would probably be even better if you eliminated some of the dead space on the left by moving the crop box slightly more to the right. Overall, this is a very pleasing shot.

This in my opinion is the best pose one could ask for with a Kestrel. Showing the wonderful colouring in the back, with a look. As mentioned the head looks a little soft to me as well. Beautiful image, Jim!

I'm glad kestrels are not as skittish where you are. I like the pose and colors. Maybe you could crop a bit off the left and maybe some S/H on the shadowy parts of the perch.

Great pose and perch Jim. I would selectively sharpen the head/neck some more. Wish it were mine.
