A beaver image from last winter at Humber Bay on Lake Ontario in Toronto. I lay flat on the icy shoreline while this beaver was just off shore staring at me.

    Look forward to all comments.

I'd say it probably felt safe in that cold water. I like the shot but have you just missed the focus by a nose?

Any lower and you would have been in the water Andrew. Good perspective, and I like the visible eyes.

Andrew - good POV. I too like the eyes. Looks like a little bit of movement?

Nice low perspective and eye contact. Did you use a dry suit Andrew?

Thanks to everyone for the comments. They are much appreciated. I probably should have bumped-up the ISO a little and stopped down a smidge more - focus point was on the eyes. No dry suit was used, I was laying on the ice build-up along the shoreline. It was rather cold though.

Love the perspective here. Don't envy your temperatures. Normally, focusing on the eye would be the answer but in this case the nose looking a bit soft detracts a bit. Like the fact that you can just see his teeth.

    Andrew,

I am going to agree with Marina here that the nose, being so prominent in the image is distracting being OOF. I like the low angle and blue of the water.

nice head-on shot here with good use of DOF Andrew...maybe rotate slightly as I would prefer the beaver's eyes to be in the same plane? :)
