Wow! The bird is sharp and full of details. I can even see details on the wings which is almost always blurred.

Love the full stretch wing and the side view look of this bird. The background is very nice also. I might reduce sharpening around the body and the head a bit.

Now THAT'S what I've been waiting to see, Gus! Outstanding! Perfect in every way on the bird's pose. The sharpening on the head looks great but it feels a tiny bit oversharpened on the belly - might just be the irridescence of his feathers, though. Could also use a little NR on the BG and then PRINT IT BIG! :D

Gus, I'm copying this to Avian...it's too good for them to miss!

Hey Gus. So Julie 'promoted' you to the big board! Congrats! Almost looks like a multiple flash hummer. Great pose and a nice BG. The bird looks slightly over-sharpened on my monitor. I might add a sliver of canvas on the left, and I would also consider lightening the darkest areas of the BG. Overall a very nice image!

A striking image! I too would like to see the shot with the sharpening lowered a bit. Also, am I missing something here? How did you record the wings so crisply at 1/500 sec.? I'd have thought you'd have needed a much faster speed to capture a hummingbird's swiftly beating wings.
