This is a montage of a number of images I (we) took today. Millie, the poor young female DSH, who now has only three legs, has found a new home. The lady taking her has recently lost a companion cat and has been visiting Millie at the vets for nearly four weeks; every single day. So that was a good start. Millie is now able to walk and carry on normal, the site of the amputation is looking great, healing is good. We spent a good hour with her and her new room mate Megs, who is an enormous (desexed) tomcat. She only wanted cuddles, and more cuddles and.... you get the picture. The nicest thing is that there were many people who contributed to her expensive vet bill from my work, my wife's work (she has her job on hold until Feb next year), and from her vet class at uni. In fact, the entire operation was paid for by the kind folks, who donated nearly $1,000 in a matter of three days! So there are many good people out there. We are forever grateful and will miss this wonderful little girl. But all we know is that she will live like a princess from now as the lady just lives for her felines.
Akos: What a wonderful story and wonderful pictures. You and your wife should be really happy to see what you've done for Millie. It sounds like she has a wonderful life ahead -- all because of the kindness of people who love animals.
I really like the pics of Millie and you as well as the one with the woman (your wife?). It shows the love between Millie and her saviors.
Beautiful montage, Mate. Amazing story to go with. I am glad that Millie found you and your wife otherwise it could have so different. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the kind comments folks. It is so nice to see that she is going to a good home. We were very sad, but happy because she really, really grew on us. :) Yes, that is my dear wife. I'll be introducing the other cats from the property as well shortly.
