    Caught this guy swaying in the wind. C&C appreciated.

    Gizzo:

    Your bird is sharp and well exposed,good angle in frame, interesting perch, nice background.

    In a perfect world, I would prefer that the left pod not be so close to the tail, and might consider toning down the luminosity of the two pods under the breast a bit. Perhaps a bit more DOF. I know you wanted to keep the speed up because of movement, but you had room to crank up the ISO on the D3 to give you some more aperture flexibility.

    Were you using a 1.7 TC to get the 320mm focal length?

    Thanks for the comments Randy.

    I had the new Nikon 2x TC attached. I backed it off a bit because of the breeze. I just got the D3 recently after using a D300 for a couple of years so I need to push the limits of the ISO a bit more.

    Looks like you are getting pretty good IQ out of the new TC. I haven't been terribly fond of the 1.7.

    Are you using the original version of this lens, or the VRII?
