Default Amish Workers Taking a Break

This photo is part of a series I took of the building of an Amish school near my house. In this image they are eating ice cream in the rain. I applied "My Favorite to Use" by playing with textures, and "Heaven Blush" by Shadowhouse Creations.
    Comments and critiques always welcome.

Excellent work, Anita! Very authentic-looking old style. If I didn't know better, I'd think it was an old photo. :)

Thanks :-) I was wondering if the cement blocks would give it away.

Anita, I love the scene w/ the rain. I also like the "Amish" wagon and the way the men are all gathered around it. Nice aging and toning. Maybe just a hair bright near the right center? Lovely image!

Thanks for the feedback. I will check the bright area you mention. I did lighten the center.

Excellent composition, Anita. Very nice aging effect. Surely makes it look authentic. Nicely done.

Nicely done Anita, I like this a lot. No worries on the concrete blocks, they have been around since the 1830's.

This brings back memories for me. As a young lad I worked in a glass shop in Kokomo, Indiana. There was a large Amish population there and they used to bring their buggies in to have the glass windows replaced. We would all go out and talk to them and their horses. Timeless people and an excellent choice of subject for this theme.

P.S. - now they have a web site...

Great image, Anita! Wonderful aged quality and its "backs to the camera" style adds interest and maybe a little intrigue.

Glad to learn about cement blocks being around a long time.

Nice story about the Amish. I enjoy living in an area that has many Amish families. The Amish you mentioned have a web site?
