lioness on the prowl

There seem to be quite a few pictures of captive/zoo animals lately, so I thought I'd join in. I think we'd all like to see these animals in the wild, but a safari isn't always coming up next week...

This lioness was at the Olmense Zoo in Flanders, Belgium. Dogs are allowed in the zoo, although the big cats don't seem to entirely agree on that. The lioness saw our irish wolfhound and prowled straight in aggressively. Very nice behaviour in front of the camera naturally!

Very cool looking pose and expression. You can tell she means business. I would suggest a touch of contrast boost here just to see how it looks.

Thank you both for your comments. Robert I'm wondering whether the upload to Flickr hasn't cost me some contrast, as I ended up rejecting a boost on the original. Our dog didn't even notice her approaching.
