Another image of a flock on the move. I caught a lucky break when the clouds started to disperse and the sky peaked through.

Nice exposure, an amazing spectacle I am sure, I note you were at 100mm, to provide an indication of the spectacle - did you also take some at a longer length?
Regarding composition my only reservation is having the more "visible/optically dominant" birds at the periphery of the frame i.e. at the top.

Thanks Jonathan. Yes, I took some at many different focal lenghts up to 400mm, some even wider than 100mm with another lens. Most don't look good for web, even at 1024 pixels, as the geese are very small in the frame. They look great large though:cool:!! At the peek of the action I took a few where there are as many pixels filled by geese than sky...and the geese are even smaller in the frame than on this image here!!

Hey Dan, this really does show the enormity of the gathering. I do like the inclusion of the clouds in this, and Im sure you had fun capturing this scene at different focal lengths.
