Ok, not really fill flash, but reflected light from the river. Can I count it progress if I can tell the difference between a pic that needs fill flash and one that doesn't???? :D

I do have other gull pics where I like their interaction better than this run-of-the-mill flight pic, but gee, all the fun pics needed fill flash so I am going with this one. it looks pretty bright here, but there were no blinking over-exposure spots when checking in the camera.

Looks good Cheryl !!!! Proud of you !!!

You did get lots of fill flash !!!!! Good to remember the surfaces that will give it to you !!! Always be careful with the exposure since they are on the ragged edge !!! I like this images They are so elegant !!!

Thanks, Alfred. What do you mean "on the ragged edge"? I think it is a bit too bright. i did tone down the blue a bit.

    Cheryl,

I love this type of image and make them many times. I like the high contrast look and electric blue sky (many won't like the really blue sky but I do). I think Alfred was referring to the hot spots on the neck, etc. Those can easily blow out - be overexposed.

Robert, I too like the bright contrast of the white and blue.
What is the best way to tone down the whites a bit in the processing? They didn't show blown out in the camera, but they look that way here.

Hi Cheryl Robert is correct Means that you are very close to over exposing but just on this side and just getting a couple !!!

NICE ONE! Agree with at the edge. Also agree with Robert about the blue, it works well here.
