Thanks for the comments, I am sure all will be well.

    Peter,

I had not really noticed the horn/ear overlap. I will look at the other images of this.

Great detail on the animal and the bird is a nice plus. Do you have one with the right ear and horn not merging?

Ken - I don't want to hijack your thread and maybe there is a better place to post this. I just thought people would be interested in hearing about this horrible poaching incident of black rhinos in Lewa:

Maybe we should avoid posting the locations of our rhino shots.

    Rachel,

I really do not think that poachers look on BPN to find locations of Rhino, but you never know. Matusadona has a reasonable population of these animals and it is very well known, but it also has a very good anti-poaching operation.

    Here is an example:

A guide on a houseboat radioed his guests who were out fishing to say that he had spotted Black Rhino near the houseboat, within a short period the park rangers arrived beat him up and arrested him. Radioing locations in this park is forbidden.

The real guilty party is CITES.

Ken - while I doubt poachers look specifically to BPN, they may do internet searches for images of black rhinos and see where they were taken. I also understand that in all likelihood the poachers already know which parks and reserves have a population and it is more a matter of them being able to find the rhinos exact location at a given time.

These days it just seems like the poachers are succeeding all too often. :(
