This image of an Appaloosa pony was taken on our recent trip through Kentucky. My granddaughter wanted a picture of a horse, or two, so I had to stop and shoot it. Thought it was fitting for this theme, based on the heritage it enjoyed in the old west.
Modifications included; DAP Aquarell, application of a layer from an old photo that I worked on last year for my wife, photo filters (sepia, warming and orange) as well as other normal PS image adjustments.
Mark, I like the aging that you applied and the worn edge border. I might have liked a bit more photo and a smaller border if it were mine-but it is a nice look.
A wonderful title for the photo and the theme. My preference would have been to have the head more prominent instead of the rump. The torn edges are very effective.
Very nice aging job, Mark. I really like the subject and title. The torn edges are great. I agree with Denise on making the border smaller. I also would remove the red speckles throughout the image. Nice work.
Thanks all for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.
Thanks for your comments Christopher. A JFYI, the red effect is off the layer I made from an aged B&W photo of my wife's family, when I was doing restoration for her. Seemed to be natural, as the effect came from aging of the B&W photo of her grandparents. But understand, just wanted to explain it isn't from current processing of the image.
