I'm not happy with the empty space on the lower left, but a closer crop seemed like a waste of that nice BG.

Ignacio - a very nice shot with a great fall colors bg. I like the way the tail slopes to the lrc.

Stunning background colours and I think it is an interesting little animal with its' stripes. You caught a good pose but do agree with your comments re the foreground. Is it much of a crop already?

    Great shot this.

I agree that it is likely a least chipmunk ("racing stripes on the face"). The only two chipmunks it can be confused with are the red-tailed chipmunk (found a good deal further south, so given this was taken in Jasper it can't be that) and the yellow-pine chipmunk (larger, usually greyer, less common, best distinguished by the red-under tail).

Love the colours; nice "chime" between the reds in the background and the colours in the fruit and on the chipmunk. Sharp, technically well executed.

Only two suggestions: (1) I presume from your post you don't have any canvas to the left in the RAW file? I say this because the image is a centred composition, and I agree that more to the left would tend to make it compositionally more interesting. Did you consider adding canvas in PS? (2) The colours look a little bit over saturated on my monitor - is this true for any other viewers?

    Minor nits. Great shot.

I don't mind the central placement at all here, especially because of your nice autumn background Ignacio! super sharp and I love the munching pose

Thanks Hilary; actually this is almost full frame. I did crop a little to eliminate a bit of FG, any more and the tip of the tail wouldn't show. Tough decisions...;)

Thanks Simon. There is a little more space available on the left, but then I've got more of that empty FG... I desaturated a bit here, but the actual colors were that fiery - Jasper in Autumn is quite a spectacle.

Thank you all for your comments,

I would just crop a little from right and bottom.

The foreground doesn't bother me, the autumn colours and the berry draw the eye well.
