This was taken at my backyard. It is a set-up at the feeder. I added some canvas all the way around. I tried some images further out but I liked this one better. All C&Cs are appreciated.

Like the perch and BG. The bird looks great, with a perfect head angle. I might crop from the top.

Jim, good inquisitive pose, cool looking perch, and as this is a set up, may I ask what your BG is Jim? Nice and smooth whatever it is.;)

The BG is an OOF maple tree trunk about 3ft from the ground. It is about 25 ft from the perch. Later in the day I have autumn leaves and grass as the BG. I can`t wait to see your triple vertical you promised Doug!

Very nice indeed. Terrific perch, BG, exposure and perch. Perfect subject placement.

I find the bird a tad oversharpened( head looks fine though).

Nice shot Jim - I like the perch and the colour of the background. I am seeing what looks like ghosting (? or faint artifacts from PP) in background just to the left of the tip of birds tail and the just behind the wings.

Thanks for the comments and good eye. When I added canvas on the left side it must have picked up the wing. Here is a repost.

Nicely done as above. From here there looks to be some funky stuff going on with the BKGR below the bird and behind the tail.

    May we see the original?

Nice finishing touch on the repost. Good job aligning your setup to the maple trunk resulting in very nice BG. Perfect head tilt our way. Artie: Jim has addressed your concern in his repost in pane #8, unless you are seeing something else?

Hi Arthur. Here is the RAW file without any adjustments then converted to a jpeg. If there is a way to keep it as a RAW image and post it let me know. Thanks for your time.

Jim, great job adding to the mullein. Did you use part of another, or a composite of the same one from another image? I also like the reddish area in the BG of the uncropped version...hopefully you got some birds to land on the other mullein to catch some of it in your BG!!

Thanks Daniel. I took parts of the same one and blended it and touched up the ouside edges so there is no duplication. The reddish area of the trunk is from a rope of a hammock that rubbed on the bark. I have other images with a different perch that shows more of this spot. The Black-capped Chickadees and Red-breasted nuthatches are posing regularly.

Thanks Jim. You did the right thing with the RAW > JPEG. You did a great job on the mullein but you somehow messed up the BKGR in the two spots that I mentioned above. This one is worth doing with over with care.

See how smooth the BKGR is in the ORIG in front of and behind the tail? It is lumpy and darker in the image in Pane #1 :)
