OK, I couldn't take it any longer, seeing all those gorgeous OOTB images, especially the Fractalius filter ones. Today I just happened upon a BAA Bulletin talking about Denise's tutorial, so I took the plunge. I played with several images tonight and like this one the best. It is my best GBH image, and then I used the Fractalius filter, and some contrast.
What do you think? I think I may have revealed too much or the original eye though.

I really like the end result, Cheryl. The eye ( and beak) looks great to me and the image carries a neat electric (blue) charge! Your BG color/texture compliment the GBH. I'm glad you took the plunge into Frac! :)

    Thanks, Steve.
I really want to learn how to make those "electrified" images. Is there a tutorial/explanation somewhere on how to do that??

Hi Cheryl, this is a perfect looking fractalius image. Quite beautiful. Well done! Beware though - farctalius can be addictive!

Cheryl, beautifully done. But be warned - fractalius is very, very addictive

Agree that Frac is addictive. i also think the eye is perfect. The fract conversion is cool and the BG really strengthens the effect.

    Hi Cheryl,
I think you and denise cross posted so I'll just mention that denise has a great tutorial @

I also just googled one that I may examine @

As far as those comments about avoiding a Fractalius addiction... Just remember to get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids... :D

Cheryl, this is a nice base image and I like the frac work. The electric look is one of my faves and works really well with dark backgrounds. Like Steve said, don't forget to sleep once in a while...

I really love this one as I also like the electric look and the deep colors. I like the eye detail.
