I think this is a lovely scene, I like all the habitat and the hawk has nice color too! My question is why does there apper to be quite a bit of noise in the BG? Really doesn't look like there should be?

nice enviromental compostion and some nice light. i agree with nonda, there is definitely something going on with that background that i'm not particularly fond of. you could blur it out, but i would not blur enough to lose the defintion of the trees.

Hi William Love the take off capture Excellent composition !!!

I see a halo around the head and wing Not sure what is going on in the bg Seems like it has to do with post processing The bird is reproduced well and does not seem to be a large crop !! Like seeing these type images They are very appealing !!!

    William,

If you are sharpening the BG and the bird, selectively sharpen the bird and perhaps his perch only. This camera, which I own, has little/no noise in blue skies at ISO 200. Is this a RAW conversion or original JPG?

Thank you all for the comments.....The bird was selected and a little curve was put to it and some USM. As for the sky I went and took a good look at the RAW and it is in the sky there also. I have no idea what caused it. After final sizing I ran USM mask but no noise reduction was done.

    Again Thanks
    Bill

i really like the position of the bird in relation to the odd looking tree - too bad somebody can't work some ps magic here..
