    Default Turkey Vultures

    Attached Images Attached Images

was out bird watching and we had 10+ turkey vultures come over the pond and the pannes and start to grab the thermals to form a kettle as the start migrating south.
Taken with Nikon D3s Sigma 50-500 @ 500. Auto ISO 2200 1/1250 sec @ f 10. I have been using the auto ISO feature since we were in deep dark woods to bright sunny field in the space of a few hundred feet. Slight crop, used gaussen blur to get rid of the noise in the BG after selection out the vultures. selective sharpening of the head, shadow adjustment

I don't mind the 2nd bird as it shows the thermaling behavior. The lower bird looks to be in focus, but there is little the sunlit portions (which is confusing to me).

Hey Myer, Wish foronly the one bird. Nice detail in the lower bird. The sky seems cyan to me and I see a light halo around the bird. Cheers.

Here is the vulture as a single from an other image had small portion of the second bird on the top to the right which I cloned out. On my computer screens I see no halo or a cyan cast to this image. ThanksName: _D3S4592-Turkey Vulture.jpg

Thanks Myer. Duh!!! What I meant to say was, "Artie: but there is little detail in the sunlit portion" (of the closer bird).
