Like the simplicity and colors very much here. One can tell exactly what species it is without any effort. Super!

Love the colors and the simplicity of this image...maybe a CW rotation? (just a little bit)

    Joerg:

Nicely captured, nice colors, full wing up pose, skimming trail.
I could see a more pano presentation. The water has enough ripples that the reflection isn't strong, and I think you could try a variety of crops.

    Cheers

Good 'skimming' posture, and the silhouette looks great against the colourful water BG. I would maybe crop at least half up from the bottom. With regards to a rotation, I feel its just about fine, as most of the ripple lines are horizontal.

I'd go for the pano crop too. Nice silhouette, and I love the strong skimming line cutting across the fainter water ripple lines.

Thank you all for the comments. I agree with the suggestion to do a pano crop - see below. As for the rotation I like it that the skimmer is coming into the image at an angle and with the ripples mostly horizontal (thanks Stuart!). JR
