You have to love digital, it allows Me to do with a mouse what I'd love to do with a brush ;).

I photographed a Snow Bunting the other day, who'd just finished having a bath..he decided to hide his legs and belly, while he was preening.
I got the idea to make a composite using the open wing, all I needed was a suitable image of the feet. All in the same light light

I ended up with the image below, used a Fotosketcher, 3 color pencil effect and canvas texture from CS4. Originals to follow...

Hi Paul, love what you did with this one. Snow Buntings? Must be that time of year brrrrrrrr. I usually have large flocks of these guys in the farm fields around my home, but have never tried to shoot them. Looks like this one let you in fairly close. Well done!

I love the final COMP, the sketched look, and the great imagination and creativity that went into making this wonderful image.

Paul, your composite work is amazing! I love what you did here. Have you ever tried a digitizing tablet? You can actually get the real feel of a brush and you would be amazed at how fast your work goes. If it were my image I would go back and paint out those little "hairs" that the filter left on some of the edges. Very nice!
