    Took in Gallocanta lagoon, a good site to photographing cranes (Grus grus) in Spain. Do you think it needs more contrast?

    Interesting flight posture Hugo, as if he's about to pounce on something. I feel a more conventional comp in landscape would work better here, and I agree adding a tad more contrast will work.

    Good thoughts by Stuart, esp. about the crop.
    I am not so sure that a generalized contrast boost is what you need here. Because of the dark shadows in some areas, I am afraid a global increase in contrast will just aggravate that.
    Might be able to do some selective sharpening/contrast enhancement on certain areas of the bird. The lighting angle, well above and to the left does tend to make it more difficult.
