    This is an older image that I thought would be appropriate for the halloween season.

    Hello Ian, this is a nice portrait in time for the halloween indeed. It seems that the focus on this photo was on the neck as it is the one that looks the sharpest.

    Nice intimate portrait Ian. I like the look-back. I would have liked a bit better eye contact with more of a head turn towards you. I think a few things could be done to improve the image. You could crop a little off the left and give some to the right so that the bird is not looking into the short side of the frame. You have a lot of detail in the face but it needs to be sharpened more. I tried a fairly aggressive 100%, 1.0 in Smart sharpen and it brought the image up nicely. I would also try dodging the lower face and neck to brighten up that area.

    Love that big round eye and the look back pose. Agree with John suggestion about the composition and the sharpening. Nice image fits for the Halloween theme :)
