    Got a chance to go down to the river today in early morning light. Normally I don't get out that early. I also got to try the TC with the 400 f/5.6L for the first time. No so bad, really but it did hunt just a tad. (I put this here because that perch is an old dock piling.)

    Looks like some pretty color in that light. I like the wingspread showing the warming/drying of the wings and that you have the head turned to see the eye. Despite the dark body, there is nice detail on the spread wings. I'm impressed with the detail in the wings and head given that you used the TC and AF. I wish that BG was more even. I cropped the image in closer and then extended the smooth BG to make the top the same. I don't know if you'll like it.....it was just something that I thought my work. See what you think.
