    Default Up, Up and Away!

Here's a shot from this past spring. I was photographing this female Common Goldeneye right at sunset as she cruised along a local stream, just as she was coming along parallel to me something seemed to spook her (sound of the shutter maybe?) and she started off. It all happened so fast, I didn't get a chance to change any settings - I just lifted the ground pod and started shooting.

Nice low angle. I like the composition here showing the splashes.

Interesting crop and I think I'd like it better if more of the subject and the trailing splashes had been in focus.

The background grasses are distracting as bright as they are and could perhaps be darkened a bit?

Upper part of the breast looks really hot on my end.

I do like the low POV.

Like the composition and the fact you got the head and eyes very sharp! Agree about having a little more of the image in focus.

Interesting perspective Jeff, and I like how he's flying towards you at the low angle. Good to see the take off splashes in the BG.
