Hello Rene and welcome to BPN.

The branch in the background really takes away from your subject. You can also run the image by some kind of noise reduction software to help reduce some of it. With that said, I like the mood and cold feeling on this one.

Very pretty winter cardinal.I agree about the B/G branch and noise reduction. Is this a full frame or cropped shot? There seems to be a slight softness to it on my monitor which may be caused by a large crop.

    Hi Rene,

    Is this a big crop?
It seems to lack density and the dark part of the bg looks rather noisy.

It doesn't look at all like a 1d3 image.

Composition is nice, but we need to be careful abut IQ.

    Big welcome to BPN!!!

Wecome Rene ! Very pretty composition and I like the falling snow. What I do think would strengthen this image would be to crop just a little off the bottom . It appears too centered to me and the other nits have already been mentioned. Love the mood you captured in this image and thanks for sharing Rene.

Nice pose and feeling with the snow. I find this image too soft with lack of details. Knowing the very nice ISO performance of 1DMk3 I guess this is a large crop which causing this noisy image.
