    Default End of the Trail

This image was taken in Waupun, Wisconsin on our recent trip to view the fall colors of the Midwest and the Canada Geese migration at Horicon NWR. While the geese did not show up, apparently enjoying an extended stay around the Hudson Bay and we were one week late for the peak colors, we did get some interesting images there and through the Smoky Mountain NP.

This is the original casting of the famous End of the Trail sculpture, which is located in a cemetery in Waupun. The story follows in the next frame.
    Enjoy!

Mark, I love the way you've framed this with the greenery on both ends. I bet this would make an interesting black and white image as well!

Very nice Mark. Like the contrast of statue against the white sky. I have seen many replicas of this work, but I never knew where it came from. Thanks for including the story.

Thanks all for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

I was surprised myself when we found this in a cemetary in Wisconsin, it being and icon of the old west. But it is awesome work for a 17 year old artist and like all, I've seen it for many years around the country.

Confession time... the sky was not pure, so I replaced it with a white background layer. Just to be honest... ;)
