Same view that Gus had but from slightly different location and time During the day you need to find weather since there is no color Was on the way out of the key spotted the rain and took a quick picture
With this you are starting out with a no so good image Its a bit underexposed and have very little or no color to help you Will see what you can come up with !!!
This was a toughy Al.
I thought I had a reasonable image then thought "Not quite Straight"
So started again.
Work flow:
Straightened with: Picasa2.
Applied: Noiseware
Levels adjusted.
Applied contrast.
Added saturation
Reduced red highlights
Sharpened
Applied Smart Fix

Since there wasn't much color I thought BW might work. I toned it with a warm gray and did a bit of dodging/burning to enhance the contrast in certain sections. Took out the airplane and a bit of the tree as well. Hope you like it.
Sorry Al, I cropped the airplane out did not see it. Iwas trying to eliminate the branch to the far left, sorry. I also made the city line level it was lopsided to the right.
I also added contrast and tweaked the hues a little. What do you think?
Here is what I worked out Since the image was dark to start I decided to go darker with the wether Mostly density changes in local areas For the sky I selected and area and feather 50 pixels It makes for a very smooth transition You can do the same with another and even overlap
All the posted versions look very good Love seeing the possibilities
guess I see differently than most....leveled horizon, moved horizon above center and
worked a few levels/curves and layer masks....selective sharpening
Hi Al,
Cropped to move horizon from midpoint.
Linear Curve
New Layer, Overlay, 50% Grey to lighten foreground
Slight gradient to darken sky
Slight warming filter
Another try. Photomatix, straighten skyline, move airplane:D, NIK Polarizing fiter, NIK skylight, new layer, Overlay, 50% gray, ligthen foreground. Now to go do the chores I'm been putting off.
That was a tough crop to keep the plane.
Found the mid-grey point and worked from there.
Lab colour soft light A 100%
Touch of saturation +5
Brightness +21 contrast +21
Smart sharpen Gaussian blur
This was great fun with sunday morning coffee.
Have a nice day everyone.
