Sand River in B&W
Arthur's re-post of LeHardy Rapids in B&W inspired me to search my river detail images and play around with Silver Efex as well. I came up with this one, that was shot at Sand River in Ontario's Lake Superior Provincial Park. The water level was very low so intimate water images were all that was possible. I used one of the copper-tone settings in Silver Efex also.

I really like the tone from Silver Efex and the blur is very nice. For most streams and waterfalls I like to see some detail in water, not just "mush" :)
I love the image design. I am gonna grab it and go play. I see it much bolder. Be back soon.

Excellent image flow and processing, Andrew. I like the color tones and details in the water and rocks. Both the OP and Artie's version look great in their own way, I don't know which I'd prefer.

Andrew, One of your best. I really like the amount of "silk" to the water and the scene looks great. I like both the OP and Artie's they both have a lot of merit.

I especially like the texture of the water--soft but with details. Well done. I also like the composition.

Greetings. The composition, toning and water are great. I think the positive aspects of Artie's repost is the increase in contrast of the rocks, but the downside is the overall darkening of the rocks which to my eye is too contrasty water to rocks. I think a increased contrast to the lower 1/3 of the histogram (with curves) would do the trick for me.
I'm beginning to be sold on Silver Efex. Good show!
