Default Smoky Mountains NP Fall Colors

We just returned from a trip to the Midwest via the Smoky Mountains. The colors were awesome and appear to still be changing. We were there on 10/21 & 22. Anyone who has not been there, but lives in the vacinity should try to see the colors as we did. Watch out for the tourist though as they were just coming when we left. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg were packed. Avoid them if possible, unless it is your intent to join them. The road to Cades Cove was also like I-95 on spring break. Expect to take 2-3 hours to get there from 441. We took the Parson Branch Road out of Cades Cove and were glad we did. Bumpy, but only about 1/2 hour to get back to the main road 129.

It was worth it though, due to the magnificent colors and sights we experienced.
