This is probably one of the two males we tracked on foot in June, only to be left with a very "fresh" reminder of his presence. This time we found him on the causeway between the mainland and the island very early in the morning..

Beautiful light and I really like the color of the surrounding landscape.

Ken, love the light in this one. The surrounding landscape works well with the image. A slight tilt of head towards you would have made it even better.

I like the light and the clean environment. I'll wait for an answer to Morkel's question.

Thanks to everbody for your kind comments, the only problem with this sighting was the brevity.

In June we knew there were two young male Lions on the Island, which is mainly dense bush, we tracked them on foot but the nearest we got was nearly walking into an awful smelling pile of really fresh scat.

This picture was taken on our 2nd visit of the year, this time there was a small pride with cubs which we found late one evening returning to camp, but although we could hear them we never found them. There were two males presumably coming over to visit and this is one of them. Hope this clarifies things?

Ken - good story and I like the mid-stride capture. Pleasing colors and POV as well.
