We had some decent clouds last night for the first time in ages. I think this one is my favorite of the series. I got there too late and just missed the sun but the reflections make up for it, I hope! 5D Mark II, f/7.1 @ 24 mm, 1/320, ISO 400 I didn't notice the aperture was on 7.1 as I was in a hurry to get a shot.
Thanks Jason. It was made on the lake at the John C. Stennis Lock and Dam on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in Columbus. The main river channel is just in front of the trees. I live only 3 miles from there so I go often.
This is quite nice Judy. I like how you framed the clouds. I don't think you arrived too late. More often than not, I find the colors get better after the sun has set. Well done.
Hey Judy,
Very strong V's in this form some nice comp elements and lead you through the scene. Colors look pretty goodalthough I might tone down the brightest area....just a touch as it does act as a focal point. Your DOF worked fine in this case as you didn't have anything in the FG....so just keep that in mind if you do. Nicely done overall.
gorgeous sky and a calming mood Judy...I'm missing something distinct in the foreground? maybe a clump of bushes on the edge of the water could have worked? unless you were on a boat? :)
Morkel, I was on a dock and in the past when I posted some with the uninteresting tall grass and weeds foreground from the other vantage point, the consensus was to not include it.
Hi Judy, as stated...very strong V cloud formation along with reflection. The play of the blue and grey sky against the orange is also effective. Good job on the repost...
