This is my first time posting in the wildlife section hoping to learn more from all the critique and comments here. This picture of an American Alligator was taken at Brazos Bend State Park, Texas in July this year. It was an overcast day and I was trying to shoot a heron sitting on a branch in the swamp. As I was getting closer to the bank to try and get closer to the heron I saw these pair of eyes staring at me just a couple of feet from where I was.
Critique and comments are welcome.

Like the dof and the clear, bright eye. The water plant provide a lovely diffuse background. If possible I would like to have seen the end of the snout, or at least where it drops below the green.
Thanks y'all for all the comments and critique. I would have to see if I have a wider view for this shot. I was actually trying to concentrate on the eye I guess due to lack of longer FL I could not isolate it even better.I could be way wrong but I think a wider FOV would have taken away from the eye the only interesting thing going on in this boring image.
