Not sure why the strange bokeh on the flowers? Have the same lens and have not experience anything like it? I think it could be linked to post processing? Would love the see the image prior to optimization !!!

btw excellent catch and I like it a lot !!!!

Pano crop works well for this image. Light was a bit nasty. Looks like you were dealing with heat waves which is giving you the wierd bokeh...

Nice capture. I agree that bokeh is strange. Heat waves might impact the bokeh. I have never noticed such kind of bokeh in my shots taken in peak summer at about 45-48 degree celcius. I will try to examine my files out of curiosity.
Robert: What can be done in such situations when there is a heatwave? Will the polarising filter be of help?

    Al,
We were following the cheetah as it stalked a gazelle, but couldn't get close as it started to run and then exploded in speed. It did make the kill.
I was shooting with the 600mm and still the cheetah was small in the frame. This picture is the result of heavy duty cropping. I believe that the distance involved and the heat waves are responsible for the strange bokeh.

Perfect timing with all feet off the ground showing the perfect form of this beautiful cat.

I agree with Bob on the timing for the feet - a thing of beautiful. Nits already mentioned.
