The background was OOF but messy so I've taken some advice from helpful BF people and smoothed it all out.

It might be a tad bit dark but I'm on my work monitor so let's see what others say. I love the pose and the smooth BG. The tail looks much better in this image than the previous - it feels like it's part of the bird at this angle. You've got to love those wren tails - they have real attitude!!!

Hi chris...I have to agree it looks just a tad too dark. I think you handled the bg nicely and the pose is eyecatching! The tail with the attitude is wonderful. It would be nice to see the tail sharper as it helps makes the image strong. I also really like the feather detail you have captured here. I really like this !:D

Great pose and composition. excellent detal. with regards being a little dark might consider just lightening the face a little. Very well done.

    Wow! Another beauty. :D

I noticed that the perch of the female looks the same as this one and that of your avatar. Did you stage your perch on your backyard?

Hi Eric. I found a nest at a local bird spot and after watching the birds for a while I noticed that after the birds finished feeding the chicks they would often fly over to this plant. I just set up the tripod at close to minimum focussing distance and waited. I also snapped off a few twigs from the plant to make things easier when it came to editing the photo.:D
