    Default A Clean Shore

I'm still having a lot of fun with Topaz Clean. This time I wanted to see if I could get a watercolor look with it and I'm pretty happy with the result. Also used a bit of Nik Color Efex Pro "fog" effect so it wouldn't look too contrasty (I hope). Some hue/saturation, USM, and a small graduated gray border.

Not sure if the scene is level, the shoreline moving away to the right gave me some concern. Let me know what you think!

Nice work, it looks level but I'm not the one to trust on this.
I like the way the sky and mountain intersect the image evenly.
Just enough detail in background not to take my eye away from gulls and foreground..
Just me though, the flying gull, I'm 50/50 on, I wish he was higher up
Try Fotosketcher for watercolor, theres a new one out version 1.98 (he seems to just keep coming out with better and better things)
    Way to go Kerry

Kerry, I like the softening effect that the filter created. I agree w/ Paul regarding the gull. It doesn't look level to me-but.... Anyway the colors and the comp. are very nice.
Paul, You are right about FotoSketcher they really have come out with a better version.

Nice composition, Kerry. I like the effect and the soft colors. I am with Paul and Denise on the flying gull. It could do with a slight cw rot (around 1 deg). Very nice use of filters. TFS.

Kerry, I like everything but the flying gull. It looks level to me but I'm really not good at level Is the new Photosketcher a free download also?

    Hi Kerry,

I like the look. Nice effect with the topaz clean. Can't quite decide if the level is off a touch or if it is an optical illusion. I agree with Paul that fotosketcher might get that perfect water color look.

Excellent painted look, Kerry. Looks very nice. Using the browser's bottom edge as a guide, I think the horizon could definitely use a bit of straightening. I also agree on removing the flying gull.

Thanks everyone! Johan, this is part of the Malibu coast in California. Interesting factoid - the coastal community of Malibu is 25 miles long!

Kerry, the comp and treatment on this look great! I agree with others that that one gull should go. It's not level but who cares? This is the OOTB forum! :D

I thought that looked familiar! I've spent a lot of time on those rocks and in that kelp. :)
