Another image from Glacier Park last month. We had a "blue bird" day, and wind in the middle of the afternoon, so I turned to making blur shots. This one is a loopty-loop vertical blur, but I liked it turned sideways. It looks a little like water to me. Let me know what you think, and how it could be improved.

Patrick the colors are perfection. I like the loopty-loop look to this blur. Nice softness created but with nice detail. Are the long ends in the LRC tail feathers?

Thanks Denise. This is a stand of birch trees, and the LRC streaks are trunks.

I am going to have to get out and try this...very nice, did you blur by moving the camera in a "U"? However you did this, I like the resulting blur.....the blue in one corner, the golds...TFS

    Patrick,

Greetings. My first thought was Wow, nice water reflection... followed by how'd he do that? Very cool, beautiful color. I know this is a blur, but I wouldn't mind a bit of sharpening. And removal of the black dot near the upper edge, maybe 20% from the right hand corner. Good show!

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Thanks for the input, and great eyes Michael. I guess I need to clean the sensor on that camera. Here it is with some additional sharpening.

Paul, you are correct, I rapidly moved the camera down then up in a looping pattern.

Super work Patrick! The colors and blur are yummy and I like your OOTB thinking to rotate the image. Well done!

Repost killer. Do you have to be loopy to create images like this??? I thought it was water. I read everything that you wrote above and am very confused. If this is an image of trees how close were you ???

Thanks! I suppose I was a bit loopy that day. :o It was fun challenging myself the way you and Denise taught me! It was a small stand of birch trees that were about 10 ft tall. I was standing right next the trees using my favorite 24mm Tilt shift (the tilt/shift features were not used on this image, it was just locked down). The image was shot as a vertical, but I turned it horizontal here. Denise's "tail feathers" are actually the trunks of the trees.

Thanks Patrick. I am still confused. Sometimes for teaching (or posting) purposes it can help to create a "straight shot" so the dimmer folks like me can understand :)
