You gotta love those sticks from nowhere. From where you were, I do not think that you could have made a better image. This one is sharp with a perfect exposure and perfect wing position as well as sweet light and some nice underwing detail. And I like how the bird is angling slightly towards you.

Thank you Artie, when it got close enough, I only had short time frame for a few shots before he flew behind a bunch of pine trees and lifting up into the nest. It was a good morning.

When the bird is "in the zone" you gotta make hay. And you did.

    Troy:

The techs already covered by Artie. Always nice to see both the ventral and dorsal view of a wing in one image, both well illuminated. Nice stick for sure.

    Cheers

Randy, appreciate it. I wish I was up in OH last weekend for the Ducks. ;) I am sure you have gotten some great images.

    Troy:

THe conditions were certainly more challenging this year, with very cluttered water and completely clear skies. But, had a good time, and did get a couple of keeper shots. ;)

All has already been said, Troy. Glad the female was able to "round up" a new mate for the nesting season after the unfortunate accident of the male last year. You have gotten some nice keepers and your hard work is paying off!

Troy, looks like he's building a log cabin. ;) Great capture, sharp, and overall well exposed.

Thank you all for the nice comments.
I'm glad to see the new mate is working hard to build the nest.
