Really like this one, Scott. Sharp, good exposure and comp - the image is dynamic, with the ruffled feathers and tail up in the air.
Might consider going a bit brighter. The reflection of just part of the bird's leg is a tiny bit distracting and you might consider cloning out that small piece of white shell on the sand below the bird's breast, but these are minor criticisms. Great image all around.
Love the behavior of this SBD that you captured here and the way the feathers are all fluffed up and fluttering all around. Agree with John on the bird being underexposed a tad...an easy fix...and would clone out the water at the bottom. In this particular case it detracts from the rest of your image.
Good suggestions above. To which I was add that the bird is angled slightly away from you. If you had moved two big steps to your left that would have left the bird square to the back of the camera.
