    Default The Gut

I tend to prefer shooting in lesser known locations. Here is one from a spot known as "The Gut" which is on the Crowe River in a remote corner of Ontario's Hastings County. I really like the way the river widens after it flows through the narrow gorge or "the gut"

Nice combination of colors against the running water. The curve of the river through the frame works well.

Hi Andrew, good comp along with nice detail in the water. I like how the foliage actually frames the upper part of the image with just a bit of coloration. Well handled...

Love the curve of the river and the greens. A crop from the bottom to the point of the brownish-purple rock in the llc would strengthen this considerably.

You captured the flow perfectly and the colors are very nice. I think Artie's suggestion of a crop is a good one although it's fine as it is.

    Andrew,

Well composed with the flow coming in at the upper left and turning to the lower right of the frame. I agree with the crop from bottom suggestion.

Thanks to everyone for the comments.
I'll take a look at the original captures from this location, I may have a version without that rock in the LLC, otherwise I think I will crop off that bit. Good suggestion Arthur.

    Hey Andrew,
Like Artie's crop suggestion and see you do too! Could clone/patch.....but the crop does make the curve have even more impact!

The shutter speed you used was perfect, I really like the effect on the water. The colors are great and location you chose to shoot was perfect. Agree with others that the crop would strengthen this. Nice job. TFS.
