Midweek trip to Viera Wetlands. OOf weeds in foreground. Canon 1D Mark IV, 500F4L IS, 1/1000 sec, F4, Iso800. I had to be quick . It only takes a few seconds for him to swallow Crayfish.

    Layton:

good timing and nice catch by the bird. Good DOF for this f/stop. I like the eye contact of bird on prey.

I know he is a little 'blue' heron but to my eye it has a marked blue cast.

Might consider a small crop from right and more space on the left if you have it.

    Cheers

Blue or magenta, or both. Love the way that you handled the oof foreground stuff and the view of his lunch is killer. Some off the top would strengthen this considerably for me.

Nice image with prey, love the eye and sharp detail with the soft light. You feed them well over there :D.

Like how the subject is captured. At the right time at the right place.

Different, thighter crop will make image stronger as already pointed out.

Now, why do I suddenly have "Lobster for dinner?!" going through my mind?
