    Caught this chap with the sun and wind off his right shoulder and quite like the result.

    Captured, Canon 30D, 300mm F4L IS, + 1.4X Conv.at 420mm, 1/1000 sec, F/5.6, ISO -200.

    Got some dramatic lighting on that bird Chris and well handled Would give the bird more room by the tail and up front Might also evict the bright highlits by the head?

    Normally I would go for more traditional lighting but it is fun to go for these !!!

    The wind-blown feathers add interest. I agree with Alfred regarding it being tight in the frame and the bright spots.

    I would much prefer a totally back lit image to the side light here, exp. with the shadow of the single feather and the over-exposed highlights... Also, there is something very funky going on with the last primary feather...
