    50D, f/6.3, 1/1250, iso 500 400mm on 100-400 mm.

A little bit of water clean up. NR on background, removed reflective catch light.

What a joy to get this close.:D All comments appreciated and thanks for looking.

Beautifully captured Gary, not sure the pano style crop works with this one, was there something you were trying to omit from below? The reflection might have added an extra bit of something if it was complete.
Exposure and sharpness all look good to me, must have been a battle not to over expose the eye ring too much.

Nice light on the bird and good head angle and exposure. I am also not sure about the pano crop.

Nice shot and pano works for me. I like extra colors on the feathers -- that little touch of blue and gold feathers add a little extra punch for me -- the background is great with the blue water breaking through the reflection -- nicley done

    Gary:

Well done, with good background colors to compliment the bird. I am Ok with the pano crop unless the head reflection is really strong, which I suspect wasn't.
The eye ring is always a challenge. Could consider a light linear burn or multiply selection on it. I tried it on one of mine and it did seem to tease out a bit more detail.

I really like the line of tiny ripples extending forward from the breast.

    Cheers

    Randy

Love the blue and gold. I'd love just a bit more on the bottom as the REFL of the back is tight.

Thank you for all the input! Appreciate the time and knowledge. It would have been nice to have a great reflection on this shot, but the reflective eye was rather distorted. Also, the very top was clipped off...my fault there.:) I tried to give a little more room on the bottom of the repost but included part of the beak and does not look good. Continual learning and having a great time at it. Thanks again.
