    Well I had my first exclusively RAW picture session yesterday
    Here is one of my first pictures.
    Pentax K10D and Tamron 70-300 @ 220mm.
    400 ISO DNG RAW 1/2000 @ F5.6.
    Comments welcome.

    And its a nice one at that. The gold foreground is really pretty but I would crop off the choppy background waves and a little in the foreground. Here's my shot at it.

    Ian,

    Colors are very cool and I like Gary's crop. I would clone out the three blobs (lower edge - 2 and right edge - 1). Is this kelp?

    Glad to see you shooting in RAW Ian !! Will never look back !!!

    I like the cropped version very much When you are composing the image a little movement up/down can bring dramatic changes Here going up slightly would have given you smooth gold tones behinds the little mounds .... what are those little mounds?

    Good point Alfred about the movement. I was not sure of the subject - hence my question, but moving up or down could have given better separation.
