Default Artie taking a shot of the Mormon Barn

    Attached Images Attached Images

In Grand Teton NP. Artie joins a line-up of photogs at one of the Mormon Barns. I tonemapped this in Photomatix and added a very slight Orton effect. I included the full frame capture to show the area a little better.

Oooohh, that's a gorgeous scene with great light! The soft Orton-look processing is perfect.

Hi, hasn't changed a bit since I was there only less photographers... I like the guy who's bundled from the waist up and wearing shorts. Go figure!

Great shot Denise - it captures the beauty of the scene and the Tetons photography experience all in one frame!

A few years back I spent a week in the Tetons to capture the fall colours and this is image reminds me of that experience. I recall getting up bright and early one particular morning and making my way from Jackson down to Schwabachers landing anticipating the sunrise - I was pretty happy to be the first one there and got my pick of the "well worn tripod holes". About 10 minutes later I started to hear many, many voices and shortly thereafter a National Geographic sponsored workshop group of about 20 arrived from the parking area and started setting up all around me - you could hardly move in the crowd. After getting some great sunrise shots (despite the crowd) I headed across to Mormon Row to photograph the barns and I found it just like this...

I am the one with the brown lined pants, the blue sweat shirt, and the big bald spot. If you look carefully in the llc you will see a small wooden bridge. In about a week I hope to share the story of how I almost killed myself there on our last morning and how Denise saved my about $5K. And yes, loverly image.

......and to think it wasn't even in one of the infamous gopher(?) holes! Sweet job Denise! Imagine this......I was there all alone today! I love the subtle Orton!

Yikes! That is some story. One sometimes wonders how we get through each day :D. Good footwork, Artie. Good save, Denise. Good photos, both of you.

Very nimble of you Artie! So, Denise didn't give you a nudge?:D I love that barn! I would really work that over with every lens and tech I could think of, as I'm sure you all did!

Yes, Dan, the barns are special iconic locations. Thanks to Roman for directing us to them. I did like the tight image of the roof and the eaves on the blog that I made with the 70-200 :)
