Looks like a lightsaber to me... I like it a lot. Well here is my guess... I think I see the horizon which means it is setting sun and effect was created panning up then down on a tripod @f6.
Ditto Indranil. I think it is interesting and I like the colors.
James..it could be a rocket flame trail, taken over long exposure, early morning. But I agree with above's version....:D. I like the color surrounding the sunset/rise over water.
Hope you don't mind, I wanted to see what the area surrounding the glow would look like by itself..really found the result striking...
Thanks for sharing this image
Hi James, I agree with Indranil. Looks like you locked the tripod head horizontal panning and tilted the head with the shutter open. Very cool, and it reminds me of a rocket takeoff without the rocket.

Paul, I love your repost!!!:)
I like the re-post as well.
My goal was to create an OOTB image completely in camera.
Everyone was very close. The very brightest area at the top is the sun, the more yellow streak at the bottom is the sun's reflection in the water.
Hand held from the Hooptie Deux. Starting low and panning up.
Thanks for the comments and re-post
