Default ducklings on strangely clean water

I posted the original of this image in the Avian forum for the theme. Sadly, the water was rather dirty, and the flood filter from flaming pear for photoshop came to mind as an interesting way to 'clean up' the water.

Not quite the natural effect I hoped for, but I liked the result nonetheless!

Geoff, Big welcome to OOTB. You certainly came up with a great way to clean up the water. I like the rim light on the ducklings and the mood of the image. I feel that they are a bit centered in the frame both horizontally and vertically-but it still looks nice and works well.:)

This is a thousand times better. If you like, some off the top would make it even better. Well done mate!

Hi Denise, Artie, thank you both for such positive comments. Indeed Artie, the flood seems to come off well at this posting size. I chose OOTB because I felt at full size the water looked a bit too good! The filter seems to work best with landscapes and I just tried it for the first time last night. I have a couple of landscapes that I could also post in OOTB shortly. Cheers, Geoff. p.s. I'll look at some different crops too, thanks.

Nice presentation..like the backlighting on the goslings, with just enough detail on the faces...Well done

Geoff, welcome and thanks for sharing this image with us! Very nicely done silhouette and the flood filter does add interest. I agree with Artie regarding a bit of a crop from the top. I think this would make the image even stronger. Well done!

    Hey Geoff,
Another vote for about 1/2 the top to go.....further emphasizes the backlit ducklings and makes the flood look.....even cooler! Nicely done!

Hi everyone, here is a crop based on the suggestions above. I also took a little off the right to give the ducklings a little virtual space to swim into.
