I like the inquisitive glance he gave you. Sky is noisy with artifacts and a sensor spot. Would prefer the wings up or down.

I agree with Mike. Looks like it could be a better image with more TLC as there is evidence of PP work here and there (noise along left and bottom edges but not in the centre, odd "ghosting" or haloing along bottom outline of subject.) It did give you an interesting head tilt and I like the its placement within the frame.

I believe there is great opportunity to practice sharpening techniques with this image. The noise on the top side of the bird looks like some sharpening was applied and made its way into the sky, causing noise. On the underside I see haloing -- again what appears to be sharpening artifacts.

There was a post, either here or at Nikonians, of an Photoshop action that applied a high-pass filter along with a mask. When applied you can "paint" those portions of the image for which you want the filter to apply. You can use the same technique with the sharpening you applied on this image (or so I speculate). Copy the background layer, sharpen the copy, add a mask and fill it with black, then selectively use a white brush to paint in the areas you wish to have the sharpening apply.
