    Default Oystercatcher feeding

    Taken last month in Broadlough, Co Wicklow on a breezy morning. Not sure about the crop . Might have enough sharpness to zoom in abit and remove more of the BG
    Canon 40D, 500EF + 1.4 TC, AP, ISO 200, Pattern Metering

    I love seeing the red eye on this species of Oystercatcher, very cool. I like the rich blacks and colours. I agree with your cropping concern...I'd crop to below the darkish band, and then left and a bit right to retain the aspect ratio and comp balance. I would clone or patch out the OOF stick in LLC and also clean up the green stuff skimming along bottom edge in LRC to give your comp a cleaner finish. I like the other items in the water (muddy knob, and green vegetation directly below the feet). Good stuff!

    Thanks Daniel, I'll try some different crops and try the tidying up you suggested and see what the outcome looks like

    Michael, I agree the eye is fantastic to see. TFS. I agree w/ Daniel's crop suggestion. Nice pose and details in the blacks and whites.
