    This is an unusual pose, it almost looks like somebody has stuck it on the cactus.

    The breast is a little to dark and lacking in detail, have you tried selectively lightening this area?

    In my mind the perch is too big and just not very interesting -- looks like some nice colors on the bird

    Sharp. Interesting bird, perch, and COMP. The o-o-f cactus in front of the main perch is distracting as most o-o-f foreground elements almost always are. Glossy birds and harsh light are a difficult combo.
