    Default Resting Gulls

Nothing special here, but I liked the peaceful scene of these guys resting shortly before sunset. Biddeford Pool, ME a month ago. I assume these are Laughing Gulls molting from breeding to winter plumage. Note the little bit of red at the tips of the bills -- last vestige of the red bills of summer. If anyone thinks these might be Franklin's please let me know (note the well-defined hood angling up the back of the head, and the broad white eye-arcs); but I'm thinking they are Laughing.

I too like the scene. I would like to see more room on the bottom and there is some harshness to the BG along the right edge of the frame that could be softened.

Bill, Good comments by Alan. I like the 2 gulls together and the poses are nice. I can't help you anymore with the ID but I do like this one very much.
