    Default Banking White-Tailed Kite Adult

I've got an awful lot of Kite images from my recent California trip. I hope you guys are not getting tired of them yet. Even though it's against a sky BG, the pose really makes this image for me. A little more shadow on the eye than I would have liked, but they've got that darned brow ridge! :p

Sweet Doug! The pose is really nice and the sharpness is very evident in the fluffy whites, they don't look like cotton as they can with this species! The shadow under the birds body versus the light on the head is dramatic and hightlights the face! I'm not getting tired of the Kite series!

Doug, having tried to HH a 600 myself, you impress me with your hand held images with your 600. Lots of gym work? ;) I agree, a great flying posture, and good to see the feet tucked away. Good eye, and the comp works well.

Great photograph! I really like the composition, with the bird in the lower right corner the way you have it. The lighting on the eye is incredible, the color just pops right out. Thanks so much for sharing!
