Good evening everyone.
I like this pelican image but am at a stanstill about what to do about the background. My Photoshop skills have defeated me trying to replace this images background,
I captured this Pelican just before landing and was so disapponted when I viewed it on my computer because of the background. :o
My Canon 40D camera settings were f/8.0, 1/1600sec, Evaluation metering, +.33 EV, ISO 800, WB 5000k, using my 400mm f/5.6L lens and image was created at 8:41am.
Thanks, bf

The pose is so good and the image so sharp, that I would work the background as follows. Creat a Quick Mask of the ugly background. Here are the basic steps for creating a Quick Mask: Q, B (then paint away the offending background), Q, Shift Control I, then Control J. Now do a Gaussian Blur on the background and use the E tool (eraser) to get rid of any fuzziness around the primaries...
Good luck, artie
